New products his the market daily. Millions of dollars are spent annually both developing and launching new products. Only one in 10 products will prove successful. What makes successful products stand out in the market place compared to non-successful products? Ask yourself these 10 questions before going public with your "must have" or "revolutionary" product or service.
  1. Does my product have unique features? Your product must have a cool look that will make consumers sit up and take notice. You can't continue to come up with the same old product.
  2. Does it have mass appeal? Is it something that will sell to a wide variety of people as compared to just one segment of your market?
  3. Does it solve a problem? Think of something in your daily life that's troublesome and create a solution. If your product doesn't solve a problem, you've got a potential problem on your hands. More than likely, consumers will not buy your product if it will not solve a problem.
  4. Is their a powerful offer with a supportive cost of goods? The key is great value at a great price. In today's economy, people instantaneously check the Internet for the same product at a cheaper price.
  5. Can you easily explain how it works? If your product or services takes a college degree to understand your pitch, it's too complicated. Consumers have a short attention span, so get straight to the point.
  6. Is there a magical transformation or demo? Showing potential consumers demos such as before-and-after-spots are powerful marketing tools.
