Greek philosopher, Heraclitus once said, "The only thing constant is change itself." In general, people abhor change. Change is necessary for improving your business and also leading to greatness. In order to create change, you must rally others around your ideas which ultimately depend on your credibility. It is something that you must earn. How might one earn credibility, you might ask? Positional authority allows for one to drive change, but in order to effect lasting change, you must do more than rely on your title. Work on improving your personal integrity. If you work on building alliances in a positive way and do what you say, people will trust your intent. These positive personal qualities will help you overcome early resistance towards your change effort in the company. Demonstrate your expertise and knowledge. If you know what you're talking about and are quite passionate about it, others will have a harder time resisting change. Last but not least, be in the right place at the right time.
