Your Brand's True Colors

Color is crucial to brand identification. A red label on a clear bottle, a green straw in a plastic coffee cup and golden arches you pass on your local highway. If you struggled with identifying any of these items, Coca-Cola is known for their bright red labels, Starbucks is known for their green straws which match their green logo on their cups and McDonald's golden arches are a familiar landmark. Color has a lot to say about a company and their branding. Color also plays a huge role in memory recall, stimulating senses and conveying a message unlike any other communication method. There are some universal meanings behind everyday colors.



Blue:  Perceived as trustworthy, secure, fiscally responsible and dependable. Blue is universally well-liked. Especially popular with financial institutions.
Red:  Perceived as aggressive, energetic and attention grabbing. Increases your heart rate causing you to breathe more rapidly. Red can represent danger or indebtedness.
Green:  Typically connotes freshness, health and serenity. Green's meaning varies with shades. Light greens are calming while deeper greens are associated with wealth or prestige.
Purple:  Favorited by creative types. A mixture of passionate red and tranquil blue, purple evokes mystery, royalty and sophistication.
Orange:  Consisting of the drama of red and the cheerfulness of yellow, orange represents fun, vitality and exuberance.
