One in Seven Small Business Have No Internet Security

Internet security doesn't seem like that important of an issue when it comes to small businesses, right? Think again. Items like firewalls, secure browsers and updated anti-virus programs play a larger role in your business's security than you think. An astonishing one is seven businesses in both the United States and United Kingdom have absolutely no internet security system or software at all! Admit it; setting up internet security isn't exactly on the top of your to-do list, is it? Sales, presentations and meetings are higher up on that list of yours. Just thinking about setting up a router or installing a firewall seems like a headache in itself. AVG offers a Business Resource Centre which help guide small businesses through securing their business. The chances of your business getting hacked is a lot lower, but still not impossible. Confidential business information such as sale figures and private employee information can be easily accessed if no internet security is implemented. Would you like your competitors to be able to compare their sales figures with yours or steal your potential product ideas? More than likely, your response to that would be an automatic no. When starting a business, the first thing you should do is set up a secure internet connection. If you'd like to learn more information about internet security please click here.
