Taking care of your business from home can help people balance their time between work and their personal life. Though it has its benefits, working at home might not be the most productive method. When you are outside of the office, you take yourself out of the work environment that allows employees to communicate and brainstorm new ideas with each other. Isolation can be a distraction for an employee because, as humans, our instincts are to be able people and interact with others. When boredom sets in, at-home employees allow small things like phone calls to distract them from their work. In the office, there may be some rules that employees are expected to follow so the work day can be as productive as possible. People working at home do not have to follow any rules because their supervisor is not watching them to enforce them to complete their tasks.
