Imagine being able to print a 3 dimensional prototype of your product. Technology has come so far throughout the years that an innovation center in Youngstown, Ohio is working on developing the process of additive manufacturing, or 3-D printing. Some industries find this new invention appealing because they can print a replica of a specific part needed for manufacturing products such as an automobile. Scanners have been made that can scan an object and send the information to the computer, but we have not had anything that actually take the image of an object and then made an exact 3 dimensional replica. With 3-D printing, companies can save on shipping parts and products to different locations when they can instead just print it and the printer will produce a copy of the product.
