Jump Start Incubator gets a jump start

Jump Start Incubator held an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday. Located on the third floor of Berks County Community Foundation headquarters, 237 Court St., the incubator provides space and support services to new start-up businesses.

Jump Start is managed by the Kutztown University Small Business Development Center and led by Scott Schaeffer, director. Jump Start is a joint project between the Small Business Development Center and Berks County Community Foundation.

Schaeffer and Kevin K. Murphy, president of the foundation, delivered brief remarks to the public before a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Tours of the incubator were available prior to the ceremony. The first of two clients moved into the incubator in February.
