As our country works its way out of the current recession, there is no denying the fact that small businesses have had to take cuts, as this New York Times article states. While larger businesses are finding their boom, small businesses are being squeezed from all sides to make ends meet. However, there are some optimistic points to accompany this article.
One is the fact that the talent of the hiring pool is much stronger. As talented and experienced people have been laid off from bigger corporations, their skills are much more accessible for a small business to hire. It is a risky time to start a small business, especially when entrepreneurs are putting their own money into an idea, however, that doesn't take away from the simple fact that a good idea combined with the passion of an entrepreneur can succeed in any setting.
